ANCHOR BOYS BOOSTING BABY CASH
Wednesday 13th December 2006
Boys' Brigade members have been coppering up for charity.
The organisation's youngest section, the Anchor Boys, took time out from their usual fun, games, arts and craft activities to raise money for the Mayor of Calderdale's charity, the special baby care unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
Three five to eight year olds will present the money, which they have stuck to a board bearing their emblem, to the Mayor, Colin Stout, at Halifax Town Hall on November 13.
Val Radcliffe, Anchor Boys' leader, said: "We thought this was a novel way of raising money."
Show us the money: the Anchor Boys with the cash they have raised for the baby care unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital
Thank you to all who stuck their loose change onto the large Boys' Brigade badge. £45 will be handed to the Mayor of Calderdale for the Special Care Baby Unit at the Calderdale Royal Hospital on November 13, when the Anchor Boys visit the Town Hall.
