At the February Tuesday Fellowship Mrs Winifred Carr presided and welcomed Mrs Janet Nicholson who, along with her husband and two children, had spent their 2017 summer holiday in the company of a group of friends from St John’s, Great Horton, Bradford in Tanzania. They were doing voluntary work with children and their families, improving conditions for them which included installing toilets and water towers. Christmas Fayre 2017

Tuesday 28th November 2017 3:54PM

We held their Christmas Fayre recently and once again people from the community and beyond came out in large numbers to support us. It was a really busy afternoon and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Santa was busy in his grotto, ably assisted by his three elves. Many of the stalls sold out before the end and the Christmas hamper raffle raised a record amount. Our café was full for most of the afternoon, with people enjoying a hot stew or sandwiches, mince pies and cream and hot drinks. Outside, for the first time, we had a nativity scene set… [read more]

At Illingworth Moor Methodist Church over 150 shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse were dedicated recently during a Sunday service led by Caroline Holt . They were donated by Illingworth Moor, Holy Nativity Mixenden, Vale Baptist Todmorden and Wesley Playhouse. During the service we watched a video of children receiving their boxes in the past and the joy on their faces was amazing. This year the boxes are going to Liberia.  A huge thank you to all those who gave shoeboxes, money towards their distribution and those who organised the collection of the boxes

Tuesday Fellowship November

The Ritardandos, a male choir from Steeton, entertained our Tuesday Fellowship group once again. They have become annual visitors to our meetings and were thoroughly appreciated by nearly 30 members. Judy Thornton presided and welcomed them to Illingworth Moor. Their concert included songs from shows, old time music hall songs, monologues and one of the members played his guitar. We even had a duet of "The Bold Gendarmes". Judy gave a huge vote of thanks at the end and refreshments were served. Our next meeting in December is our Christmas meal and this year we are having a lunchtime Christmas… [read more]

Cube Choir Concert

Sunday 22nd October 2017 6:59PM

What a fantastic night. The Cube Choir gave us a memorable evening of music and humour, ably led by their musical director Dorian Kelly. The forty strong choir sang superbly and the audience thoroughly enjoyed the programme of songs and poems. The weather was atrocious but this didn't deter people getting to our church and they weren't disappointed. Well done Cube Choir.

Tuesday Fellowship October 2017

Tuesday 3rd October 2017 6:42PM

The Tuesday Fellowship group met at Illingworth Moor in October and Roz Greenwood welcomed Julie Taylor. Julie spoke about the charity “Open Doors”, of which she is a member, and told us about the persecution of Christians around the world. The talk was very interesting and quite sobering as this persecution is on the increase. At our next meeting we will be entertained by the Ritardandos, a male singing group from the Steeton area, who we have enjoyed listening to in the past. This will be on the first Tuesday in November, starting at 2.30pm, and everyone is most welcome… [read more]

The Great Get Together at Illingworth Moor on Saturday, 17th June was a fantastic community event. People came out in vast numbers and got to know others they had perhaps never met before.
