April Tuesday Fellowship

Wednesday 3rd April 2019 10:45AM

Nearly 40 people came to the Tuesday Fellowship meeting at Illingworth Moor to hear The Splinters Fun Ukes, a ukelele band from Bradford. They entertained us for an hour with a host of songs chosen by us from their list. We sang along and some even got up and jived. It was a brilliant afternoon and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, including the band.

Our next meeting is on 7th May when our speaker will be Dorothy Moore who will be reminiscing about the Illingworth area and all are welcome. The cost is only £2 which includes refreshments.

What a wonderful evening. The Huddersfield Young Singers, led by James and Jo Lewis with Richard on keyboard, entertained a packed church with a variety of songs and instrumental playing. Over 40 children and teenagers entertained us and were given well deserved applause. Even the group of little voices (4 to 7 year olds) sang and showed us their warm-up excercises. It really was a brilliant evening and a vote of thanks was given by Neil Making. Thanks to everyone who came and supported the concert.

Ackley Bridge

Saturday 2nd February 2019 1:23PM

The singing group at Illingworth Moor Church, “Hymns and Hers”, were recently asked to be in an episode of Ackley Bridge. Filming took place at Mount Zion Church on a cold and snowy afternoon and it was very interesting seeing how this Channel 4 production was made. It surprised us how many people were involved in the recording of this school drama plus the cast of youngsters and staff. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and look forward to seeing the episode on television sometime in the future.
